Back to School, Pet of the Week

For many families in our area, summer vacation has officially come to an end. As school starts back around the lowcountry, our animal shelters and rescues see a significant decline in adoptions. Stocking up on back-to-school supplies takes priority, and unfortunately a lot of pups and kitties are left waiting for their forever homes. Our local animal shelters are filled to the brim with wonderful adoptable pets this time of year. If you are able, please consider opening up your home to a lovable new friend by adopting a pet!

Highway 6

Our featured pet of the week is Highway! This playful guy would absolutely love a family of his own. His intelligent and observant eyes are always looking for a way to make you smile! He is guaranteed to keep you laughing as he sticks by your side through thick and thin.

Back-to-school can also be a stressful time for the pets already in your life. Many dogs, and even cats, suffer from separation anxiety. Say their best friend started fifth grade this year- they may miss them terribly while they are gone! While everyone is busy with school and work, some pet owners come home to destroyed blinds, “accidents” on the carpet, and sometimes even holes in drywall! We can help! Come by The Folly Road Animal Hospital any time to talk to us about tactics for treating separation anxiety. You can also find more information here.
